30A Lake Powell Inlet Beach Aerial

Lake Powell is the largest of the 30A coastal dune lakes and is located on the east end of Inlet Beach.  Half of the rare coast lake is in Bay County and the other half is in South Walton County.  The Phillips Inlet Bridge connects west Panama City Beach to Inlet Beach horizontally through the center of Lake Powell.

Camp Helen State Park is located on the south western shoreline of Lake Powell and is a popular water access point.  At the Camp Helen Lake Powell beach you'll find kayak and Stand Up Paddle board rentals.  Carillon Beach consumes much of the southeast shoreline of Lake Powell.  There is a Lake Powell public boat launch located on the eastern shoreline behind the Publix.

As you'll see in this Lake Powell aerial video, the lake opens up to the Gulf of Mexico waters.  The stained lake waters mixing with the turquoise Gulf of Mexico waters is an incredible thing to see from up high.  Lake Powell is made up of brackish waters and offers fantastic fishing opportunities.  Redfish and Speckled Sea Trout are abundant and easy to catch from the shore, kayak, SUP or boat.  Many kayak anglers like to start in the lake and then paddle through the channel to the Gulf if it's calm enough.

In this Lake Powell drone video you'll also see the remnants of the old Camp Helen pier which has become a favorite subject for local photographers.  The surf fishing from Camp Helen State Park beach is truly fantastic.  It's well known as one of the best spots to catch Pompano on the Emerald Coast.  At the end of the video you'll get a birds eye view at the eastern end of the 30A corridor.
